These are a few of my favorite things

“I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad”

– The Sound of Music

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe we are halfway through the year already. Jezz! The year is going super fast, I don’t know where the time is going. Anywho, I’m a big fan of monthly favorites videos on youtube or blog posts, however, I don’t buy new stuff to try every single month and let’s be honest not everybody’s faves change every month either.

I’ve got some snacks that I’ve been getting nonstop from whole foods, hair care, skin care, books, podcasts and so much more. There’s so, so many things that have been consistent in the monthly favorites that I actually considered making a lil youtube video. I might do one the next half of the year, ya never know.

Without further ado, let’s get into my faves!

Jade roller & Gua Sha

It took me a while to jump onto the jade roller bandwagon, I’m usually quite skeptical when it comes to this kind of tools and let’s face it, I’m hella lazy too.

Jade rollers as the name states are massaging tools made out of one or two reconstituted Jade (mineral) ends. It is thought to have been originated in the 7yh Century in China to heal and protect the skin. It stimulates circulation and collagen production, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, boosts the elimination of toxins from your face.

Gua Sha is part of traditional Chinese medicine,  it is used to reduce signs of aging, it increases blood circulation that tone and smoothes your skin. It is great to reduce puffiness, tighten your pores and improve the tone of the skin.

They can be used on their own or with moisturizer, facial masks or other products to enhance skin absorption. You can also leave them in the fridge overnight and use it in the mornings to “wake you up” and reduce puffy eyes and dark circles.

Another thing that I found the roller great for was migraines. Unfortunately, with my PCOS on the days lining up to my period, I get migraines, and the cold jade roller massaging in the temporal area of my face just relieves the pressure a whole lot. It’s a must for me lately.

You can buy them everywhere, from Amazon to Beauty stores. The price should be around 12£ for a Jade Roller, however, sometimes you can get a deal and get the Gua Sha and the roller for the same price.

Have you tried using a jade roller? What are your thoughts?

Sunday riley - Luna sleeping oil

This one has been a staple for me every single night, at first it didn’t actually do much for me but my housemate told me that with skin care you should wait a good month to actually say if something works for you or not. And oh boy, was she right!

Sunday Riley is a luxury, high-end skincare, and makeup brand. I am so happy to say that this brand’s products and ingredients are not tested on animals. I’ve been trying to avoid all brands that test on animals at all cost.

It is on the pricier side but it is totally worth it and a little goes a long way with this product. It retails at 45£ for a 15 ml bottle and 85£ for a 35 ml bottle, you can get it in most higher end stores and beauty online shops such as Cult Beauty and SpacenK.

This night oil rich in retinol which reduces the visibility of lines and corrects signs of damage caused by the sun and everyday exposure to pollutants. By massaging it onto your skin you also activate collagen formation which we are all looking for.

I apply it onto my face every night after using my cleanser, just about 4 to 5 drops and it feels like its melting in my face. I use my little jade roller to make sure that my skin absorbs it as much as possible.

In the morning my skin feels soft, moisturized and less puffy. The night oil is amazing for all skin types, especially when it comes to dry, dehydrated and/or mature skin.

The only downside is the strong smell, however, it doesn’t bother me but before I bought it I read a few reviews where people had given up buying it because they felt the smell was too overpowering. The smell is just there for the first minutes then it goes away and totally doesn’t bother me.

Garnier ultimate blends - hair food papaya

As I said before I’m trying to get rid of all products that test on animals, so I bought a few things to try and this one my current favorite hair mask.

Garnier formulated four superfood blends for frizzy, normal, dry or damaged hair. I quite like the Papaya & Amla formula which is the repair blend, which can be used as a Conditioner, Mask or Leave-in.

It is made up with 98% natural ingredients, with a vegan and biodegradable formula, free of silicones and parabens. An oh my God the smell, it is so good you wanna taste it (but please don’t hahaha).

Some of you might use your hair mask in the shower which is totally fine, I tend to apply mine when I have a lazy/pampering day at home. I apply the mask onto my dry hair in the morning, put my hair in a bun or put a scarf over my head and at the end of the day, I wash it off.

It leaves my hair so soft and smooth, it’s easy to brush and since I’ve started using this once every week I’ve noticed that it has reduced the appearance of split ends and that my hair is less frizzy.

My hair also looks shinier and healthier, the shine actually lasts for the whole week even if I wash it multiple times throughout the week.

You can buy this mask pretty much everywhere, from supermarkets to high streets beauty stores. It retails at 6.99£ but sometimes you can get it at a half price at Boots.

love beauty & planet coconut water & mimosa flower - Body lotion

Ohhh my gawwd! This body lotion!

First and foremost let’s talk about the brand for a sec, they are trying so hard to reduce the carbon footprint in our planet by using 100% recycled bottles, the products are made of natural plants and oils that are ethically sourced. And oh, did I say they’re vegan too?!

The brand not only produces body lotion but it also has shampoos, body butter, shower gels, and conditioners. And like I said before, all of them are infused with natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut water, and argan oil.

They have other scents, however, the coconut water and mimosa flower is my favorite for Spring and Summer, it is so refreshing when you apply it. It doesn’t leave your body sticky, it makes your skin super soft and healthy/glowy looking.

The smell is so good, it smells quite strong when you open the bottle, however when you apply onto your skin it’s not as strong. It leaves just a little coconutty scent.

If you’re looking into buying a new skincare product that leaves your skin feeling refreshed and moisturized but also wanna spare our little animals and make some difference in our planet? Then look no further.

It retails at 8.99£ from supermarkets to beauty, high street stores or even Amazon. However, some stores have sales now and then and sometimes you can get it for less than 5£ for a 400ml bottle.

Better you - Daily vitamin B12

For those who may not know, Vitamin B12 is essential to form red blood cells and for normal functioning of the brain and nervous system. However, a lot of vegetarians and vegans don’t ingest that much vitamin B12 on a daily basis. This particular vitamin is usually obtained from animal products such as red meat, fish, milk, and eggs.

A lot of the B12 supplements are usually animal sourced, but his one from Better you is 100% Vegan. You just gotta spray directly onto the inner cheek of the mouth and absorption commences immediately.

I am not a vegan but I eat a plant-based diet, therefore I don’t consume the recommended dose of B12 that our body needs. 4 sprays daily equal the recommended dose of this vitamin. If you use it on a daily basis as I do, you’ll notice a big change in your system.

I’ve been taking this for a year now and within the first three months, I noticed a few changes. I was less tired, I had a bit more energy and my concentration span was a whole lot better.

You can buy this product online via their website ( or on Amazon. The price for a 1,200μg of vitamin B12 (25ml spray bottle) is 11.95£.

Woman's best vegan protein - chocolate

A lot of people think that when you’re a plant-based diet you don’t eat enough protein, which in some cases can be true if you don’t do the proper research beforehand. However, the reason why I take protein shakes is different.

Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been a bit more into going to the gym regularly. I tend to workout at least four times a week now which is why I drink.protein shakes. It is recommended that you ingest protein after your workout in order to repair, maintain and grow your muscles.

Finding the right plant-based protein was a struggle for me, I found most of them very powdery and tasty. Until I stumble upon Woman’s Best by watching someone’s youtube video, and girl I cannot recommend it anymore.

The vegan blend only has two flavors, vanilla, and chocolate. They’re bost tasty, but the chocolate one kills my cravings too, so its a win-win game for me.

This blend is made out protein from peas, rice, and hemp. Per shake, if you follow the recommended doses, you get 21g of protein at only 104 kcals (if you make it with water).

Some people like to add a banana for carbohydrates into the shake, as some say that a small dose of carbohydrates help the protein to be better absorbed. However i don’t like mine with anything else, I use unsweetened almond milk instead of water as I like a smooth and creamy shake.

gymshark leggins

This is an item I never ever knew I needed, but oh boy, I was so late to the party. Right, I only really got into going to the gym this year, but I am totally cheap as f** and kept buying leggings and sports bras from Primark which hey it’s totally fine. There’s nothing wrong with buying at Primark, I still do it anyway!

Gymshark had a sale on the other day and my cheap ass thought “k, it is my opportunity”, so there I was online way before the sale started to go get my opportunity and guess what? I got to buy a few items and now… I have an addiction.

Girl! Let me tell you, these are the comfiest gym leggings I’ve ever worn in my entire life. It sucks everything ng in but you don’t feel squashed in them, their high-waisted, soft and they have some cool simple patterns for my gym shy but fashion girlies out there (aka me!).

They have multiple collections up on their site, bold and common colors, different patterns, I am sure there’s something there that you may like.

The vital seamless collection, hmm GIRL! The fit is just bomb! Gymshark doesn’t actually say for which kind of sport/modality they’re made for, but I can tell you that they are squat proof for sure. I checked.. against a mirror!

The price for the vital seamless leggings is 32 £ on sale.

book - You're a badass

You are a badass, is a self-help book for those who need an extra push to stop “s**ing” around and do stuff with your life. AKA me in life!

I actually stole this book from my housemate while she was away on holiday, i consumed this book while taking relaxing baths, commuting and before bed with my relaxing salt light.

The author of this book, Jen Sincero, is successful coach who has helped numerous people transform their personal and professional through her books, workshops/seminars, articles and other ways.

She is an F**ing boss babe you guys! And she’s hilarious too, there are so freaking funny stories in this book.

She has a website as well where you can sign up to her newsletters and get some free inspiration and advice through her online posts. There she advertises her events as well, however at the time i’m posting this there’s none scheduled.

brita bottle

One plastic bottle can take hundreds of years to decompose, so why not using a reusable bottle? Wanna know more about how you can help our lovely planet? Then read my post “Planet Hearth Credit Card”, where i talk about the overshoot day and many ways you can help our planet and live a sustainable life.

I’m one of those that don’t like the taste of tap water (don’t really know why), so when i travel i used to buy butt loads of plastic bottles but not anymore.

Before we went on our trip to Poland & Austria i bought a couple of Brita bottles for my housemate and I. I used it multiple times, refilled in various places without being”grossed” out because it was tap water.

It filters while you drink but it still keeps all the good minerals, tastes good, saves you money and best of all you’re contributing to help the planet.

It takes 150 L of H20 for the filter to be changed, not to bad, hey?

You can buy this baby on Amazon or any supermarket, prices range between 12£ and 16£.
